What's actually inside

  • Grass-fed beef tallow rich in vitamins A, D, E and K, close in structure to your skin's own sebum.
  • Honey extract a natural humectant that helps skin hold onto moisture, prepared specifically for water-free formulas.
  • Beeswax forms a light barrier that seals moisture in.
  • Shea butter adds extra softness without heaviness.
  • Vitamin E a natural antioxidant that helps keep the balm fresh over time.
  • Lavender oil, in a small amount, a light, calming scent, nothing synthetic added on top.
How to use it

Take a small amount between clean fingertips and warm it for a few seconds before applying. Press it into skin rather than rubbing hard.

Use it once a day or twice, depending on how dry your skin feels and the time of year. Many people apply it at night and let it work while they sleep.

Store the jar somewhere cool and out of direct sunlight. It doesn't need refrigeration.

Why grass-fed tallow works on skin

Human skin produces sebum built from many of the same fatty acids found in beef tallow. That overlap is why tallow tends to absorb rather than sit on top the way heavier, silicone-based creams often do.

Tallow also carries oleic acid naturally, along with vitamins A, D, E and K, without anything added to make that true.

None of this means tallow works the same for everyone. Skin differs from person to person, and this balm is one option worth trying rather than a guaranteed fix.

Halal certified, and we can prove it

Every batch of this balm is halal beef tallow balm certified before it reaches you. Most tallow balms sold in the UK don't state a halal status at all, and at least one well-known brand has confirmed in their own FAQ that theirs isn't.

If halal sourcing is a requirement for you, not just a preference, this was built with that in mind from the start.

Ask us for the certification and we'll send it over before you buy.

Who tends to reach for this balm

  • Dry skin that feels tight by the end of the day
  • Eczema-prone skin looking for something with very few ingredients
  • Sensitive skin that reacts to fragrance and synthetic actives
  • Anyone halal-conscious who couldn't find a certified tallow balm before
  • People who read ingredient labels and want to actually understand every line

What the texture actually feels like

This is a whipped balm, not a liquid lotion and not a rock hard block. It should scoop easily from the jar and melt within seconds against warm skin.

In colder rooms it will firm up, and in a warm bathroom it will soften. That's normal for a formula with nothing added purely to fix its texture.

A pea sized amount covers more skin than you'd expect, so start small and add more only if you need it.

Scooping and applying tallow and honey balm

The honest downsides

Tallow is occlusive, meaning it sits on skin and forms a protective layer rather than absorbing away completely. For very oily or actively breakout-prone skin, that can feel like too much, and a lighter product might suit better.

Large scale clinical research on tallow specifically for skin is still limited. Most of what we know comes from the individual ingredients it contains, like vitamin E and the fatty acids in tallow itself, which are separately well studied.

We'd rather tell you this upfront than have you find out after buying. If your skin is prone to congestion, patch test on a small area first.

Questions people ask about this balm

Is tallow and honey balm really good for your face?

It can be used as a daily face moisturiser. Results vary by skin type, so try it on a small area first if your skin is very reactive.

Why don't some dermatologists recommend beef tallow?

The main concern raised is that tallow is occlusive, sitting on the skin's surface rather than absorbing fully, which can be too rich for oily or blemish-prone skin. It isn't that tallow is unsafe, more that it suits some skin types better than others.

What are the disadvantages of tallow for skin?

The biggest one is that it can feel heavy on very oily skin and may contribute to congestion for some people. It also carries a natural scent from the tallow itself, though our formula is deodorised and lightly scented with lavender to keep this minimal.

Is tallow really good for aging skin?

Tallow contains vitamin E and fatty acids that support the skin barrier, which is one reason mature or drier skin often responds well to it. We can't claim it reverses visible ageing, since no honest moisturiser can promise that.

Is this tallow honey balm halal certified?

Yes, every batch is halal certified. We can share the certification directly if you'd like to see it before ordering.

Does this balm smell like meat?

It shouldn't. The tallow goes through a deodorising process before it becomes balm, and a small amount of lavender oil covers whatever mild scent remains.

Is the honey in this balm raw honey?

No, and we'd rather be precise about it. We use a honey extract prepared specifically for water-free formulas like this one, which is part of why the balm doesn't need synthetic preservatives to stay stable.

How long will a 60g jar last?

Because the formula is concentrated rather than diluted with water, a little goes further than most face creams. Most people find a 60g jar lasts six to eight weeks with daily use.
